UNCA Board Certified
Chaplaincy Program

The United Nations Chaplains Association's Board-Certified Chaplaincy program is designed to give aspiring chaplains the ability to take advantage of opportunities for intervention and support by providing coursework requirements in addition to experiential knowledge. During hurricane and disaster relief peak seasons, chaplains have opportunities to receive access to support disaster and crisis relief victims in times of need. Board Certified Chaplains utilize information acquired through academic study as they employ principles of business & organizational leadership, spiritual & emotional care, resource management, and logistics to engage accompanying organizations to meet the needs of mankind.

The role of the Board-Certified Chaplain includes: effectively functioning in advance disaster response, often at the region and global level, establishing alliances to impact local community policy-making; implementation of plans to ensure supply channels, food supplies and availability of resources; strategizing with disaster relief partners and deploying resources and personnel in a state of crisis.

The Event Base Responder is the entry-level position, which allows for the acquisition of the specified skill-set necessary to effectively function during a crisis at the region and global level. The Event Base Responder acquires skills through the pre-requisite coursework at Camden University and Graduate School of Theology  Fundamentals of Chaplaincy Certificate Program, through deployment field training in crisis affected areas and by serving as a team member in crisis counseling, community development, and societal reinstatement.
